Community Briefs: Feb. 6

A few tickets remain for the “Farm to Fork” dinner being held from 5:30-9:30 Feb. 15 at Wild Indigo Catering at the Haen Gallery, 200 King St., Brevard. Featuring local, organic, seasonal food, the seven-course themed dinner is titled “Allure of the Aphrodisiac” and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Bread of Life, Transylvania County’s community soup kitchen.

Tickets are $75 each.

Parks and Recreation Department offices have moved

The administrative offices for the Parks and Recreation Department have relocated to the Henderson County Athletic and Activity Center, 708 S. Grove St., Hendersonville. These offices were formerly housed at Jackson Park. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Parks and Recreation main number will remain the same, 828-697-4884. All program registrations and general recreation inquiries will now take place at these offices.

Western North Carolina Quilters’ Guild scholarship

The Western North Carolina Quilters’ Guild is accepting applications from high school students in Henderson and Transylvania counties for a newly established scholarship. The award is potentially $2,000
