Asheville was the first city in the US to employ Trolley Cars. Here is your chance to own a piece of American history! Today is the last day for an eBay auction to buy the 1927 Asheville trolley car. This J. G. Brill Company trolley car was one of just ten cars operating on the streets of Asheville eighty years ago.

Black History Month Celebration at Stephens Lee Recreation Center

Come on out this weekend in honor of Back History Month and have some family fun. The Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts will celebrate this Saturday February 28 starting at 1:00 pm at the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center. Come enjoy the walk through history with poetry, song, dance performance and a community potluck. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish and share in the gathering.
