With lots of snow, more on the way, and highs that don’t reach above freezing, the white is here to stay for a while. Get your camera for some wonderful photos of Asheville blanketed in white.
Being a mountain town, almost every neighborhood has a great hill. Feel like a kid again as you soar down the snowy incline.
Biltmore House- if you reserve online, 7 days in advance, your ticket is half off. For adults, it’s $29. Walk through the woods from the parking lot for a commanding view of the estate and the lawn, now white, leading up to the mansion. For a warmer entrance, take the shuttle bus.
Hiking in the snow covered woods is always a fun winter treat. There are various free trails, or visit the NC Arboretum, with changing displays in it’s 2 buildings.
Enjoy a drink at the Grove Park Inn in front of the huge roaring fireplace. During the day you’ll be able to see the snow covered golf course and the historic Kimberly neighborhood.
Enjoy a wide variety of hot chocolates, or for the ultimate in decadence, the heavy, coconut based cold sipping chocolate at the Chocolate Lounge, near Pack Square.
The skiing, snow boarding, tubing, and hot chocolate are all great at Wolf Laurel, a ski resort just 30 minutes from downtown Asheville.
